One of my greatest assets is my obsessions. I pick a topic that's highly relevant to my life at the moment and learn as much as I can about it through blogs, wikipedia, experience, etc. The beauty of it is that the obsession slowly trickles down into everyday life, so I go about my daily life with that newfound knowledge safely snuggled deep in my mind. It's learning about the world one step at a time, and so far the formula works. So far I've been obsessed with weight loss, literature, movies, makeup and video games. My obsession with video games will slowly subside when I finish reading the Penny Arcade archives and stop wikipediaing most of the games that they've mentioned in their posts. And that obsession is being taken over with...cooking and decorating. I never thought that I would love cooking, but it's a natural progression from my constant weight loss worries. Because you need to eat good, natural foods to lose weight. I have this fat little book called "healthy eating" or something and in the beginning it has a brief rundown of all kinds of different foods, their origins and how they're prepapred. If I read a page a day, I'm golden. I can't wait to cook up a lot for my mom's next shindig. And as for decorating...don't get me started. Becuase my parents just got a new house, my mom has had a lot of modern decor magazines lying around (especially LivingEtc from the UK). Umm...yeah, I now get really excited at the thought of yellow rubber banana bowls and small turqouise-colored vases. What's next? I think art, but it also I've had a craving for good historical non-fiction.

...why, what do you guys do at work?
